Bill entered the financial advisory industry upon graduation from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1976. He joined the Jefferson Pilot Corporation as an advisor management trainee. In this capacity he earned the company’s “rookie of the year” as a production leader. Bill was promoted to division manager in 1978 and developed the leading advisory production unit in the company. In 1981, he was appointment Director of Development with New York base H.L. Financial Resources. Bill pioneered a fee based financial planning model development program that established the largest productive unit in the company. In 1987, in partnership with H.L. Financial Resources he established the Webster Financial Group in Bethesda, MD. This organization merged several financial service operations in to the largest financial planning firm in the metro Washington D.C. area. The firm included a pension administration company, broker dealer, seminar marketing entity, and a specialty underwriting corporation. The firm was sold in 1991.

In 1992 Bill was recruited by CIGNA Financial Advisor as Regional Vice President for the Mid-America region. This region encompassed Kansas City, St. Louis, Des Moines, Omaha, and the states of Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska, and Missouri. In this capacity Bill achieved four consecutive Trident awards for production, profit, producer development and, revenue growth. The region was awarded the companies highest honor, the President’s Trophy in 1998. In 1999 CIGNA Financial Advisors was acquired by Lincoln Financial Advisors. Bill assisted Lincoln in the development of Sagemark consulting. This organization has become the largest national fee based financial planning firm in the country. Having spent 39 years in developing financial advisory firms, Bill became an independent advisor with M Securities, Inc. in 2013. In this capacity he assists clients in estate planning, business succession, retirement planning, and accumulation planning. In addition to the Charter Life Underwriter and Charted Financial Consulting designations he also holds the General Securities Series 7 and Principles Series 24 through FINRA. He is also a member of the Kansas City Estate Planning Society, and a 28 year member of Hallbrook Country Club. He and his wife Debra have three sons and live in Leadwood, KS.
